The Chemistry Add-in for Word makes it easier to insert and modify chemical information, such as labels, formulas, and 2-D depictions, within Microsoft Office Word. Additionally, it enables the creation of inline chemical zones, the rendering of print-ready visual depictions of chemical structures, and the ability to store and expose chemical information in a semantically rich manner.

The Chemistry Add-in for Word makes it easier to insert and modify chemical information, such as labels, formulas, and 2-D depictions, within Microsoft Office Word. Additionally, it enables the creation of inline chemical zones, the rendering of print-ready visual depictions of chemical structures, and the ability to store and expose chemical information in a semantically rich manner.

With the Chemistry Add-in, you can:

  • Create inline chemistry zones, which are controls that contain information about a molecule, to represent chemical data.
  • Create a chemistry zone by typing a simple common name such as “water”, and then use the Chemistry Add-in to convert it to your preferred representation.
  • Switch from a molecule’s trivial name to its concise formula to its 2-D representation.
  • Represent molecules by displaying a printquality 2-D structure diagram, and use the built-in editor to modify the structure.
  • Import molecules from other chemical editing tools, and save edited molecules in the Gallery for use across documents.
  • Store and expose chemical information in a semantically rich manner.

The Chemistry Add-in supports publishing and data-mining scenarios for authors, readers, publishers, and other vendors across the chemical information community.
