Das Soziale Netzwerk MySpace stellt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Software-Konzern Microsoft ab sofort das MySpace Connector für soziale Netzwerke für Microsoft Outlook 2010, Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 und Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 zum kostenlosen Download zur Verfügung.

Das neue Feature Outlook Connector für soziale Netzwerke verbindet Sie mit den von Ihnen genutzten sozialen und beruflichen Netzwerken, einschließlich SharePoint, Windows Live und anderen beliebten Websites von Drittanbietern, damit Sie Informationen über die Personen in Ihrem Netzwerk erhalten und mit diesen in Kontakt bleiben können, ohne Outlook verlassen zu müssen.

Microsoft Outlook Connector für soziale Netzwerke und das zugehörige Update KB983403 müssen auf dem Computer installiert sein. Sind diese Komponenten noch nicht installiert, werden sie vor Abschluss der Installation von Outlook Connector vom Microsoft Download Center heruntergeladen und installiert.

  • MySpace for Outlook allows you to see your MySpace friend status and activity updates right inside Outlook, without having to log in to MySpace in a browser. MySpace for Outlook also creates a new Contacts page with all of your MySpace friends.
  • The activity updates can be seen every time a friend's email is selected, or when you open the MySpace Contacts page and open a contact in Outlook.
  • From the MySpace Contacts page, you can email your MySpace friends directly from Outlook. Email sent to their MySpace Mail address will show up in their MySpace Mail account on MySpace.
  • Hyperlinks in the activity updates allow you to quickly jump to see the activities, such as posting a new picture, recording a new video, recording a new song, or making a new friend, all with a simple click.

It's a newly available add-in that puts MySpace inside of Outlook:

  • Uses Microsoft's Social Connector to add the "People Pane," which shows a profile picture and other MySpace info for each contact who's also a friend.
  • Creates a special MySpace Contact List.
  • Shows your friends' status updates and other Stream activities.
  • Provides one-click access to your friends' profiles.
  • Enables you to easily email your friends.

Install the Outlook Social Connector and MySpace for Outlook:

  • Quit Outlook if it's running.
  • Download and install the Microsoft Outlook Social Connector.
  • Download the MySpace for Outlook Installer.
  • Select Run when prompted (or double-click the EXE file if you downloaded it) and follow the directions to complete the install.
  • Open Outlook again - the Social Network Account Settings dialog should open automatically. If it doesn't, find this option under the Tools menu.
  • Check the MySpace box, enter your MySpace email and password and then click Connect.

Now you can start using MySpace for Outlook:

  • To see your MySpace friends, go to Contacts and click on MySpace.
  • To see a friend's activity and status updates, double-click on their name in the contact list.
  • To see activity and status updates for a MySpace friend whenever an email from them is open: Add that friend's email address to the Contact list entry under E-mail… / E-mail 2. MySpace email addresses are private, so you need to add your friend's email address yourself.
  • Your friend's activities will now appear in the People Pane while viewing an email message from them.
  • Click on the links in the People Pane to see more detail for the activity and status updates on MySpace.
